Grandchildren are the most precious things. They provide ample opportunity for you to spoil and love them yet hand them back to their parents when you are done. 😍 This weekend, I was asked to watch just one of my five grandchildren, giving me an opportunity to reflect on how special they are and how they make your day with just a smile and an “I love you, grandma.”
I also realized how much easier it is when you’re not a mother or father to enjoy them. Without the confines of a family, work, and all the other jobs that parents must do, grandparents get to enjoy being with the children. We have time to play games, take walks, go to track meets, eat ice cream, and just love those babies to the moon and back! When they look up at you with those adoring eyes and say, “Grandma, I had the best time. I love you,” one realizes how special they are.
