REFLECTIONS

I came across an article that started with “grief starts at the point of diagnosis.” Anticipatory grief. A grief experienced before an anticipated loss, often associated with terminal illness. Feelings of grief and distress. Some say it feels like a roller coaster with alternating periods of normalcy and distress that can last for days. I never heard of it. Almost 13 years later, I have an explanation for what my family and I were going through.

How many of you have heard about anticipatory grief?
