Many holidays exist in the U.S., but none as special as a day to honor fathers. Let’s define father: A good dad is one who gives guidance to children under his care. He is thoughtful, supportive, accepting, loyal, grateful, and selfless, while also knowing when to step back and let children fly on their own. Fatherhood is a monumental task that walks a baby through infancy, preschool, adolescence, and finally adulthood. Some men excel in this area, others flounder, but somehow most regain their footing enough to provide love and support through all of life’s ups and downs.
So, therefore, a good father: shows up, sets a good example, enjoys his children, sets up rules and discipline, listens, shows love and affection, and spends TIME. If your dad fits into one or any of the definitions, it’s important to say… “Dad, you are the best!!”
