Sometimes the “alone in a crowd” isn’t such a far-reaching thought. This weekend, I experienced the very feeling. Overcome by grief in a circle of family and friends, unable to express myself and say I’m sad, upset, and angry. Feeling as though I’m having an out-of-body experience, unable to share my feelings. Sometimes the isolation we experience from grief is enough to separate us from our group. Recognize the signs of distancing yourself and realize that this is not the answer to grief.
